Time Slips By…..

February 12, 2007

Well well well what do we have here? O ye my blog.

Ok it’s been a very long time since my last update, Christmas came and went, i spent, played 360 till it got hot and bent and am now looking forward to lent.

This semester has some cool modules but they are proving to be very time consuming. I have ccna2 (routing), network operating systems and Internet 2 all demanding my time and deep study. The question is though am i still enjoying myself and the answer is definitely yes, in-fact even though it is tough going and loads of work has to be done I’m loving it.

I’m not playing any 360 at the moment, before Christmas i picked up a Nintendo Wii and i haven’t played that for a while too. But as it should be, my interests lie elsewhere and I’m now looking to start building my own little Cisco practice lab at home to help me with all my Cisco studies. So if anyone out there knows of a cheap Cisco 2600 router going then drop me a line. :)

I’m still enjoying my Mac, i’ve really warmed up to OS X now so i’ve decided that in the summer instead of building a new PC (which was planned) i’m going to by a Mac Mini but i’m waiting till Apple start shipping them with ‘Core 2 Duo’ chips and by that time the OS X 10.5 (leopard) will be out and also shipping with the Mini. (Ooo rubs hands)

Season six of 24 is airing at the moment and is crippling me to watch this show on a weekly bases. So far it’s been good but i’ve found it to be a bit weak and predictable in some parts and still i’m there every week watching it, eye’s glued and scream at the TV when the hour is up noooooooooo.

Well that’s it for now, until the next time.

Update

November 23, 2006

Well not that much has been happening since my last blurb, just the usual head down working hard at Uni, this semester has been pretty hard to get back into the swing of things. Why? i don’t know, must be the weather.

But what i have been doing while feeling strange is playing alot of 360 games. I bought Splinter Cell DA which was poop, Call of Duty 3 which is a great game and the online gaming is pretty cool; but thee game of the year and probably for a long time is Gears of War i cannot stop playing this game. I’ve completely thrash the single player and now enjoying the Multi-player, if you was thinking about getting this game then do so you will not be disappointed.

Darkness is looming and it’s getting colder, that can only mean one thing, Christmas is getting near. O yes good old holidays are coming were people go broke, get drunk, get depressed, over indulge, see distant friends, sit around a table pulling crackers, eating good food and drinking wine……. hey I can hardly wait.

By for now and until the next time.

Time Flying

October 20, 2006

Aye time is flying by because I even forgot to update my blog. Well Uni is hectic but at least the timetables have now settled down, the 2nd year project is still a bogey class for me but I’m really enjoying Java so things aren’t too bad.

Well i went into town today to treat myself to the new Splinter cell 4 game “Double Agent”, I can’t believe the price in all the popular game shops £49.99 is an outrage and no that ain’t no special edition or something like that, shocking.

So I was going to order it on-line but i’ve just come back from Asda’s and it was in there for £39.99, wooohooo get in there. I tried to get an answer as to why it’s £50 from the sales staff in the ‘popular game shops’(no names mentioned: cough Game cough cough) and the answer i got was “well if you want shinny graphics and blah blah blah”, I laughed and said “oooooo you mean greed” and walked out.

So for all your games for whatever platform you have then goto Asda’s or Tesco’s and if they can’t help then go here gameseek.co.uk I highly recommend it, they are pretty good with fast delivery. Looking forward to Gears Of War and Rainbow Six:Vegas, bring it on grrrr.

Ok by for now and until the next time.

Crazy First Week

October 2, 2006

Well last week was a bit crazy. First off last Monday morning tutorials were not for me, i ‘m not supposed to be in those modules until next year, so i had to go and get them changed and pick up a new timetable. Then i turned up for the Tuesday morning ‘Internet 2′ module and there was only me and 1 other person there which was supposed to be 7. Great the module was cancelled :( .

So a new timetable needed again. My Wednesday module which is my second year project has turned into a nightmare for me because i have to build a database for a Doctors practitions which specifically deals with immunizations for new Born’s. The database part is no problem even though it has to be created using MS Access, bboooooooooooo. It’s the preparation and research, handing in progress reports of were your upto and stuff like that which i find very boring and tedious.

My change of timetable has also cheesed me right off. I’m now doing VB( visual basic) instead of ASP but at least my java module hasn’t changed which i’m pleased about and enjoying. Also now the Whole University timetable has changed, we now have to have all assignment work handed in before Christmas and all exams are held immediately after Christmas. Nooo who are not allowed to enjoy the holidays, face the front (slapp wrists).

Ok rant over..I’m off to bed.

It Starts Again

September 23, 2006

On monday i’m back at Uni for year 2. I went to Uni yesterday to get my time table and find out the rooms i will be in. I’m quite excited and can’t wait to get cracking on but i spoke to my tutor for the Internet 2 module and he said that ASP.NET and Flash will be covered in the module. So thats Java, ASP.NET, Flash and i’m trying to teach myself PHP looks like i’m gonna be swamped. I just hope i can keep up with building my site and have time to play all the latest 360 titles that are coming in October and November, also i’ve pre-ordered a Wii so i’m gonna be realy busy. I may come out for food and water. :P

Hello Again

September 14, 2006

Well it’s been a while but i’ve been very busy with the website. I was supposed to be build it from scratch and I still might but once I installed WordPress to the server i started to go down a path that i’m currently on now and that is learning PHP so i can start to build and play around with the look of the site. But i’m gonna be feeling the pressure soon because i’m back at Uni in two weeks and one of the modules this semester is Java so that will be two languages in my head.

If anyone is interested goto digitalpuree.com and check out my site and any suggestions on how improve it will be much appreciated.

I’ll try my best to keep this page updated with my thoughts, until the next time…..
